Ruby is a legendary dog here at Kelperland. 40kgs of enthusiasm and strength!

Unfortunately, a few summers ago she had a tear in her calf muscle which led her to have a condition called a ‘dropped hock’ – this is where her ankle joint gets lower and lower over time as the calf muscle can’t heal – you can see how low her leg is in this video. The solution was to place a screw in her ankle to hold the hock upright – this takes any weight off the muscles and allows them to heal. The screw was removed 2 months later and she returned to her normal 1000 mph self!
